What is gynaecomastia?
This benign (non-cancerous) condition is the overgrowth of male breast tissue and is common in teenage boys and older men - although it can affect a man at any time of his life. Having gynaecomastia does not increase your chances of developing breast cancer.
Whilst commonly known in the medical world, gynaecomastia is relatively unknown and is not discussed openly in public, particularly as it is a sensitive issue for many men.

WEDNESDAY, June 23 (HealthDay News) -- Exposure to common chemicals during critical periods of breast development may affect breast growth, the ability to breast-feed and breast cancer risk, a new report contends.
Some of these chemicals are found in ordinary household products such as certain types of plastic water bottles, canned foods and laundry detergents, the researchers noted.

More women may be putting off much needed breast exams than in past years. Although mammograms can spot breast tumors, many women are confused of when to begin breast exams, stemming from unclear guidelines.
